Job Summary

The Senior Financial Reporting and Consolidations Analyst will play a key role in managing the consolidations and financial reporting processes for LiquidPower Specialty Products Inc. (LSPI). This includes managing deliverables to internal/external auditors and various reporting requirements to Berkshire Hathaway.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consolidations and Financial Reporting: Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing consolidation, and prepare appropriate financial statements.
  • Reporting Package: Prepare the quarterly and yearly reporting package and other requirements to Berkshire Hathaway, including 10K, Goodwill Impairment Analysis, and other SEC filings and surveys.
  • Research and Compliance: Research new and proposed SEC rules and regulations and assess their preliminary impact.
  • Auditor Management: Manage requests and inquiries from internal and external auditors, including tax return compliance deliverables, financial package for calculation of tax provision, and external audit requirements.
  • Consolidation Routines: Run consolidation routines to ensure proper accounting for issues such as currency translation on foreign subsidiaries, elimination of inter-company accounts receivables/payables, investments in related parties, and other inter-company transactions.
  • Analysis and Judgment: Use independent judgment requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors, collaborating with senior professionals in selection of methods, techniques, and analytical approach.
  • Program Development: Maintain and improve the development and documentation of the consolidation program.
  • Project Leadership: Serve as project/technical lead on small to medium-sized projects, coordinating work of professionals, technicians, and others outside of own department.
  • Support and Coordination: Assist with flux analysis and data requests as requested by Management, coordinate with accountants for timely financial reporting, and assist in reconciliation and/or approval of various general ledger accounts.
  • Budget and Forecasting: Assist in annual operating budget process and forecasting requirements.
  • Partnership Relationships: Support partnership relationships and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least 6+ years of relevant experience with general ledger, consolidation, and intercompany transfer pricing policy.
  • Strong hands-on general ledger transactions and consolidation experience with a mid to large enterprise accounting system.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in SAP S4 and a variety of financial software packages, especially Excel, SAP.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • CPA and/or MBA or equivalent.
  • Private or Public Accounting experience.
  • Experience in Group Reporting and SAC.
