Position Overview

This role is situated within the Environmental Management Services (EMS) sector of the Veterans Health Administration.

The incumbent acts as a supervisory figure for a team of four to eight Housekeeping Aides/Environmental Services Technicians. Responsibilities include providing guidance and oversight to team members to ensure the successful execution of assigned tasks. In addition to supervisory duties, the incumbent will also engage in various housekeeping activities.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Executing cleaning tasks across various areas including corridors, lobbies, offices, restrooms, stairwells, clinics, and waiting areas.
  • Utilizing specialized equipment such as battery-operated floor scrubbers and steam extraction carpet cleaners.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across all surfaces within the facility.
  • Ensuring proper cleaning techniques are applied to prevent damage to surfaces.
  • Monitoring the performance of Housekeeping Aides to ensure adherence to established methods and safety protocols.
  • Coordinating special requests for room setups and other assignments as needed.
  • Occasionally operating vehicles for specific tasks, with minimal frequency.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with varying shifts and weekend responsibilities.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is mandatory for males born after December 31, 1959.
  • Probationary period may be required.

  • Pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Unrestricted state-issued driver's license is needed.
  • Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory for all healthcare personnel.
