Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant II to enhance our finance department, where you will be instrumental in overseeing our financial and accounting functions.

Position Summary: This role encompasses the management of diverse accounting tasks, including compliance with indirect tax regulations, financial reporting, and treasury responsibilities. You will collaborate with finance personnel and external auditors to refine policies, procedures, and internal controls. Key duties include the preparation of tax documentation, audit management, and ensuring adherence to tax legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate financial statements, including cash flow reports, reconciliations, analyses, and forecasts.
  • Support budget creation and oversight, including projecting revenues and expenditures.
  • Administer the general ledger, ensuring precise recording and reconciliation of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the deployment of indirect tax software and associated processes.
  • Evaluate financial data and produce reports to aid management in decision-making.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Supervise the indirect sales and use tax function, ensuring prompt and accurate filing of Sales & Use Tax returns and maintaining a compliance activities calendar.
  • Collaborate directly with auditors to facilitate audits related to indirect tax and associated matters.
  • Document and uphold policies and procedures related to tax and treasury functions.
  • Prepare tax returns and filings for Personal Property tax, annual reports, unclaimed property, and federal/state income tax workpapers.
  • Provide expertise to internal teams and external clients on indirect tax issues.
  • Work alongside sales, operations, and clients regarding tax exemptions and other related concerns.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Vertex or similar indirect/sales tax solutions is preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills typically associated with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience are required.
  • Proficiency in SAP or comparable ERP software is essential.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, query tools, and database applications are required.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
