Job Title: Refugee Cash Assistance Program Coordinator

Join the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as a Refugee Cash Assistance Program Coordinator and play a vital role in supporting refugees and other qualified immigrants in their resettlement journey.

Job Summary:

The Refugee Cash Assistance Program Coordinator will provide trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants, supporting their self-sufficiency and positive resettlement experience. This role involves managing a team, coordinating with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service and self-sufficiency plans, and ensuring program compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate intake with refugees, asylees, parolees, and other ORR-eligible populations, verifying immigration status and confirming eligibility for RCA benefits.
  • Assign cases and supervise caseworkers providing direct services to RCA clients, including orientations, enrollments, service plan development, and administering cash assistance.
  • Ensure program compliance with the Refugee Cash Assistance contract and coordinate closely with the New Jersey Office for Refugees (NJOR).
  • Coordinate with caseworkers, employment specialists, and other internal departments to monitor client participation in employment services and English language training, making determinations regarding cash grant continuation and termination.
  • Coordinate with partner refugee-serving agencies to process RCA applications and ensure unduplicated services to clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field of study.
  • 2 years of relevant professional experience in human services, with a minimum of 2 years of resettlement experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC's core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality.
  • Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills, with the ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with proficiency in language(s) spoken by the client group desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
Working Environment:

A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and 'field' time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
