Cultural Orientation Assistant

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Cultural Orientation Assistant to support the Adult Education Department in coordinating and facilitating cultural orientation for recently arrived refugees and displaced people. The successful candidate will assist in scheduling, facilitating, and coordinating cultural orientation sessions, as well as supporting the administration of cultural orientation assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with clients to schedule cultural orientation sessions
  • Facilitate cultural orientation sessions to clients
  • Coordinate interpreters as needed
  • Administer cultural orientation assessments

Requirements:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student in Education, Non-profit Management, or related field
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to solve problems
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Cultural competence and cross-cultural or overseas experience desirable
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations desirable
