Position Overview:

The Maintenance Operations Leader is accountable for equipping Supervisors and Teams with the necessary tools and support to meet objectives by acting as a mentor and facilitator.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously assess the MCBF/MPBF results and ensure that analysis and corrective measures are implemented to meet targets.
  • Guarantee that the organization adheres to approved and standardized practices, tools, and documentation, ensuring quality in all tasks performed.
  • Evaluate new and revised guidelines, procedures, and documents, ensuring comprehension across the organization.
  • Analyze operational costs across all categories and, if needed, initiate corrective actions.
  • Lead initiatives for cost reduction across all expense categories and oversee forecasting within the maintenance division.
  • Review labor hours, costs, performance metrics, and ratio plans with maintenance supervisors.
  • Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance and scheduled tasks.
  • Evaluate proposals for continuous improvement and internal investigations of anomalies, providing resources for implementing solutions.
  • Conduct development audits for maintenance teams and assist production teams in enhancing operator maintenance.
  • Monitor the progress of non-operational activities in accordance with time management principles.
  • Track improvement initiatives in operations, such as PSS, Green Belt, and Kaizen.
  • Summarize Quality, Delivery, and Safety results, taking corrective actions and prioritizing as necessary.
  • Review key performance indicators, master action plans, and ensure appropriate actions are executed.
  • Facilitate the confirmation process.
  • Implement the policy deployment process in collaboration with Supervisors.
  • Establish Service Level Agreements in partnership with production management, and monitor, analyze, and adjust to meet defined targets.
  • Manage staffing needs and flexibility to optimize operations.
  • Provide Supervisors with the essential infrastructure and authority to achieve business objectives.
  • Acknowledge team contributions and successes.
  • Support the completion of OHI surveys, feedback, and the implementation of resulting actions.
  • Act as the primary coach for Supervisors and Team Leaders.
  • Exemplify and communicate the values and philosophy of Volvo Cars.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in maintenance or engineering, ideally within the automotive sector.
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • 6 Sigma Level 2 certification preferred.
