Senior Roadway Engineer

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadway Engineer to support various VDOT projects based out of our Centreville, VA office.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing road and highway design tasks, civil engineering calculations, and analysis. You will work on geometric layout, construction specification development, and material quantity calculations.
You will utilize Microstation and 3D modeling software, interface with CAD designers, and collaborate with other engineers and sub-consultants.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop engineering products that meet customer quality requirements, including defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.
- Perform detailed calculations, 3D models, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
- Provide support for other engineering activities as required.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (i.e. drainage, roadway, structural) to produce deliverables.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Proficiency with Microstation and InRoads and/or OpenRoads is required.
- VA/MD/DC experience is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
- Must have at least 6 years or more experience with road & highway design.
- Registered PE required.
- Roadway geometric design background required.
- Experience with policies and procedures is preferred.
- Experience on design-build projects is desirable.
- Strong communication and coordination skills (written and verbal).
