Job Title: Substance Use CounselorJob Summary

CASP with October Road in Asheville, NC is seeking a Licensed Counselor for a full-time position. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field and a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients and family members, and consult with the treatment team regularly for the development of and progress towards treatment goals.
  • Facilitate all clinical services for clients, including individual and family sessions, therapeutic groups, and referral source/outpatient provider contact.
  • Maintain clinical records for clients with appropriate documentation of clinical services and client program engagement in ECR, in accordance with program policy.
  • Provide documentation and support for utilization review in a timely manner and participate in the UR process as outlined in program policy.
  • Participate in aftercare plan development and outcome data process.
  • Contribute to program-specific curriculum development, literature review, and training in accordance with clinical philosophy.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as directed by supervisor and in accordance with program policy.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients, including crisis intervention.
  • Complete all required trainings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Master's level licensure: Marriage and family therapy, social work, professional counseling, or LCAS.
  • Chemical dependency programs may also accept: High school diploma/GED, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree with a fully licensed CADC.
  • Preferred experience in within the mental health/trauma, eating disorder, and substance use domains.
  • CASP team members must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound clinical judgment and excellent clinical skills.
  • Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information.
  • Ability to handle a crisis and/or potential risk situation and react appropriately.
  • A working knowledge of federal and state standards as well as regulating body and compliance standards.
