Small Business Support Specialist

Plexos Group, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Small Business Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our disaster recovery program, you will play a critical role in supporting small businesses impacted by the South Fork and Salt Fires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and collaboratively with our team to deliver disaster recovery program services.
  • Schedule technical assistance appointments and provide standard case management functions for small businesses.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans, support applications to grants and local, state, and federal programs, and provide guidance to small businesses as they implement their recovery plans.
  • Take referrals, make cold calls, and attend outreach events to engage with small businesses.
  • Track support progress and provide grant implementation and administration guidance and technical assistance to small businesses awarded funding.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Teams, SharePoint, and Disaster Case Management program software.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid New Mexico driver license.
  • Able to pass a federal background check.
  • Familiarity with Southern New Mexico's cultural values and history is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Business Administration.
  • Experience working with small businesses and/or knowledge of challenges small businesses face.
  • Experience writing grants.
