About Us:

At Synechron, we are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (DevSecOps) to enhance our automation capabilities, empower our development teams, and build robust platforms while implementing effective security measures.

This role demands proficiency in Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security practices associated with these technologies.

As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the Platform Engineering team, driving the organization towards a modern cloud-native operational model. The Platform Engineering team's mission is to streamline the delivery process and elevate the developer experience. Your technical expertise, strategic insight, and collaborative spirit will be essential in achieving these goals.

You will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Platform Engineering, the Platform Tech Lead, and the Platform Architect to ensure a solid technical direction. Additionally, you will partner with the Technical Product Owner on the Agile Platform Engineering team to prioritize and deliver critical platform features for Product Development Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adopt a proactive approach to tasks and communication.
  • Promote and advocate for automation, IaC, policy as code, and developer enablement.
  • Lead technical implementations in collaboration with the team architect.
  • Serve as a team leader and maintain strong collaboration with other teams and leadership.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting and analysis of automation and platform consistency challenges.
  • Ensure optimal system, resource, and infrastructure availability and performance.
  • Champion cloud-native methodologies and practices among delivery teams.
  • Provide expertise across all facets of our technology stack.
  • Automate infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Manage Azure DevOps Pipelines.
  • Utilize Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS effectively.
  • Implement CI/CD patterns.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Over 10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud-Native Engineering, or DevOps roles.
  • Deep understanding of containers and Kubernetes.
  • Expertise in container and Kubernetes security.
  • Experience with open-source security tools.
  • Proven track record in addressing security vulnerabilities and responding to reported issues.
  • Experience in debugging false positive security reports.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
  • Strong scripting capabilities.
  • Experience in writing security tests and validations.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple codebases in Git, including trunk-based and environment-based branching.
  • Expertise in creating CI builds and deployment automation.
  • Experience in building and supporting Cloud Native applications in major public clouds.
  • Knowledge of observability, application monitoring, and log aggregation solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver Next-Gen Cloud Native solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with WIZ.
  • Familiarity with AKS and EKS.
  • Proficiency in .NET, PowerShell, and PowerShell Desired State Configuration.
  • Bachelor's degree in a computing-related field.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure or AWS.

Essential Skills:

  • Application Security expertise.
  • Proficiency in ArgoCD.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of Azure Security and Best Practices.
  • Strong Bash scripting skills.
  • Experience in building IaC using Terraform.
  • Container Security expertise.
  • Experience in Cyber Incident Response and management.
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Cloud Services.
  • Expertise in Git repository management.
  • Understanding of Governance Frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Network Security.
  • Experience integrating security into CI/CD processes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with AWS Security Controls and Best Practices.
  • Knowledge of Azure.
  • Cloud Certifications.
  • Kubernetes Certifications.
  • Security Certifications.
  • Terraform Certifications.
