We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Director of Research and Development for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance environmentally sustainable oil and natural gas production, reduce methane emissions, and improve critical mineral economics.
- Lead a team of researchers and developers to achieve organizational goals and objectives, focusing on innovation and collaboration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and technical experts, to advance the mission of the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management.
- Manage and oversee research and development programs, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Must pass a background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Must complete a one-year SES probationary period.
- Must be registered with the Selective Service registration (if applicable).
- Executive core qualifications (ECQs) in leading change, leading people, results-driven, business acumen, and building coalitions.
- Mandatory technical qualifications (MTQs) in leading and directing oil, natural gas, or critical minerals research and development programs, leading and directing large research and development programs, and managing budgetary, programmatic, and personnel aspects of a technical office.
