AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Leader to develop and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks across the organization.

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, regulatory compliance, and leadership. This role requires a deep understanding of data management principles, AI ethics, and machine learning governance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with the company's overall business strategy.
  • Establish policies, standards, and guidelines for data management and AI usage to ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, NAIC).
  • Implement governance mechanisms for AI & ML models to ensure they are ethical, transparent, fair, and free from bias.
  • Ensure the company's data handling and AI practices comply with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy and security, governing insurance and financial institutions.
  • Partner with audit, compliance, legal, and risk management teams to conduct independent assessments, track regulatory changes, and implement appropriate governance controls.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards across all data sources used within the organization.
  • Monitor, assess, and enhance the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data across departments (claims, underwriting, finance, etc.).
  • Drive initiatives for data cleansing, validation, and lifecycle management to improve operational efficiencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data governance, data management within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Strong experience with regulatory compliance in financial institutions (insurance-specific experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience implementing and managing data governance frameworks, processes, and tools in large, complex organizations.
  • Experience working with AI technologies and governance of AI models in operational environments is an advantage.
