As a Sales Representative at IDI Distributors, you will leverage your strong skills in relationship building and communication to cultivate new business opportunities while delivering top-tier service to both new and existing clients. Your focus on nurturing long-lasting relationships rather than pursuing quick sales will enable you to support IDI's ongoing journey of steady growth and success as a prominent player in the insulation distribution industry.
Position Overview:
Salary Range: $66,000 - $92,400 plus commission
The Sales Representative plays a crucial role in establishing IDI's presence in the marketplace. This role involves identifying, securing, and retaining clients while consistently seeking out new prospects and fostering enduring relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop potential clients while cultivating robust relationships Conduct in-person sales visits to residential and commercial clients through office and jobsite engagements Promote the complete range of products available in the IDI catalog to prospective clients Ensure all clients are informed of current pricing and aware of evolving market conditions Promptly follow up on all sales inquiries Complete all necessary documentation, including credit applications, with precision Submit accurate activity and expense reports on a weekly basis; engage and entertain clients regularly Participate in routine safety meetings and advocate for IDI's core values Support and promote all IDI training initiatives; utilize these resources to enhance existing client relationships Attend all required company events Perform additional duties as needed to benefit IDILeadership Qualities:

Proven success in selling building materials Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel Excellent negotiation skills Ability to collaborate and thrive within a small team environment Capability to generate new business opportunities Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the timeEducational Background and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred Minimum of 3 years in sales, preferably in insulation or building materials
