The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services by executing precise scans in accordance with physician directives and specific protocols. This role includes assisting in operating room procedures and interventional imaging tasks, particularly in diagnostic and CT/MRI settings. The technologist will ensure the safe operation of imaging equipment, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and the ALARA principle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts radiographic procedures using appropriate technical factors, develops images, and verifies each film for correct positioning and exposure.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in operating radiology equipment and managing exposure levels.
  • Implements radiation safety measures consistently during all imaging procedures.
  • Performs quality control checks as required, maintaining accurate logs and documentation in compliance with ACR standards.
  • Reviews requisitions and physician orders, paying attention to patient conditions and specific instructions.
  • Facilitates patient flow to enhance comfort and efficiency.
  • Establishes priorities, evaluates situations, and makes informed decisions aligned with departmental goals.
  • Adapts procedures based on patient age and risk factors to ensure safety and accuracy.
  • Engages in departmental meetings and educational initiatives.
  • Exhibits flexibility in staffing and scheduling to meet departmental needs.
  • Willing to assist in various sections of the department as necessary for optimal patient care.
  • Adheres to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports the educational development of students in the field.

  • Assists radiologists with various procedures, including but not limited to arthrograms, myelograms, and biopsies.
  • May participate in advanced procedures such as nephrostomy placements and renal angiography.
