Key Responsibilities

The Agile Team Coach and SAFe Scrum Master (SM/TC) acts as a servant leader and facilitator for Agile Teams, steering them through iterative events and processes to assist teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in delivering value. This role is vital in fostering the growth of Agile Teams by advocating Agile values, principles, and best practices.

Core Duties Include:

  • Team Development: Mentor teams in self-organization and self-management to enhance efficiency within the SAFe framework.
  • Agile Release Trains Coordination: Engage in ART events to strengthen SAFe implementation throughout the organization.
  • Scrum Expertise: Exhibit a strong commitment to Agile frameworks and elevate Scrum maturity by utilizing Scrum techniques and artifacts, including user story refinement and backlog management.
  • Support and Empathy: Demonstrate genuine concern for team members' perspectives and feelings, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing atmosphere.
  • Conflict Management: Assist in resolving interpersonal disputes, encouraging effective problem-solving and decision-making within the team.
  • Servant Leadership: Prioritize the needs of team members and stakeholders, using influence to align with organizational values and objectives.
  • Mentorship: Encourage personal growth and foster a culture of continuous learning, guiding teams to independently address challenges.
  • Transparency Promotion: Ensure clarity by reviewing artifacts, identifying inconsistencies, and spotting anti-patterns.
  • Agile Education: Provide teams with knowledge of methodologies beyond Scrum, such as SAFe, Kanban, and Built-in Quality.
  • Preparation for PI Planning: Equip teams for PI Planning by briefing them on upcoming features and identifying local stories, maintenance, defects, and technical debt.
  • Drafting PI Plans: Facilitate the creation of preliminary PI plans, objectives, and identification of ART risks and issues.
  • Objective Development: Assist teams in formulating and finalizing PI objectives with a blend of committed and uncommitted goals.
  • Plan Evaluation: Ensure PI objectives are SMART and facilitate collaboration between Business Owners and teams during business value assignments.
  • Event Coordination: Organize cadence-based events to synchronize efforts and conduct retrospectives for ongoing improvement.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master/Team Coach in a large organization.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
  • Proficiency in Jira Software, Confluence, FigJam, Jira Align, and AgilityHealth.
  • SAFe 6.0 Scrum Master Certification (Required).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications: SAFe SASM 6.0, SAFe SPC 6.0, SAFe SA 6.0, SAFe RTE 6.0, CSM, SAFe Studio Experience, ICAgile.
