Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator/Project Manager to oversee project estimation and management. This role involves creating detailed quantity estimates based on material, labor, and overhead costs, as well as managing awarded projects efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare accurate time, material, equipment, and labor estimates.
  • Develop preliminary estimates for planning and detailed estimates based on finalized plans.
  • Engage with clients and vendors to discuss estimates and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing information from suppliers and contractors.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid packages and analyze subcontractor bids for various projects.
  • Conduct physical assessments and measurements for commercial projects.
  • Participate actively in the bidding process.
  • Oversee project management from scheduling to resource allocation and billing.
  • Ensure daily cost sheets are accurate and compliant with estimates, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with job foremen to review project plans and ensure all preparations are completed.
  • Provide feedback to the estimating team regarding job progress compared to estimates.
  • Assist in field measurements and source determination as needed.
  • Verify the accuracy of job quantities submitted by foremen.
  • Work with the hot plant operator to maintain adequate supplies for project needs.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in construction estimating is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mathematical calculations and the ability to interpret data.
  • Experience with database software and typing skills.

Physical Requirements
