Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Strategic Infrastructure Project Coordinator to join our Campus Development team. Our department operates on a 9x80 schedule, providing a balanced work-life environment with every other Friday off.
In this role, you will engage in the strategic planning of initiatives for the Research and Education Campus, transforming conceptual plans into practical, actionable projects. You will report directly to the head of the Campus Development Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with DOD, DOE-ID, department heads, and program managers to define program objectives, expectations, and priorities.
- Verify that projects designated for IPL have secured funding approvals and Class V estimates finalized.
- Formulate and execute strategies to achieve project scope within program constraints while optimizing performance.
- Facilitate coordination across INL divisions and support teams to ensure strategic coherence.
- Devise acquisition strategies, draft project scopes, and prepare contract requests.
- Oversee the lifecycle schedule and budget for infrastructure initiatives.
- Manage the development of both current and future budgets, including detailed scopes of work, cost assessments, and timelines.
- Ensure the achievement of project milestones, significant outcomes, and performance indicators.
- Provide guidance to work package managers on project performance evaluations.
- Implement proactive measures to guarantee that tasks are completed as intended, meeting quality assurance and program standards.
- Establish performance targets and enforce accountability for achieving these goals.
- Monitor ongoing activities to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications, compiling status reports for tasks/projects.
- Apply project materials, controls, and monitoring systems to ensure the successful delivery of project scope, timelines, and objectives.
- Assist in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), performance measurement, funds management, expenditure forecasting, and performance forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Level 4: Bachelor's degree in construction management, business management, engineering, or a related discipline with 9 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 6 years of experience.
- Level 5: Bachelor's degree in construction management, business management, engineering, or a related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 8 years of experience.
- Expertise in planning and managing contracts for capital projects, including General Plant, Institutional General Plant, and Operating Funded Construction.
- Demonstrated capabilities in project management and financial planning, with experience in exploring alternative strategies and formulating solutions to site and infrastructure planning challenges.
- Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management, staff, and consultants.
- Effectively communicate essential aspects of infrastructure and site planning to diverse audiences.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'L' clearance, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation Information:
- The salary range for this position is: Level 4 ($91,008 - $186,588) / Level 5 ($109,260 - $223,908). Compensation decisions at Idaho National Laboratory are based on factors such as education, relevant experience, and other qualifications.

- This is a testing designated position; candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and periodic drug testing throughout their employment.
- This is a multi-level posting, and candidates will be placed at the appropriate level based on their experience and skills.
