Senior Process Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for delivering technical expertise to chemical manufacturing processes, providing both tactical and strategic guidance to enhance operational efficiency.

This role is crucial in ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible production of formulated products.


Main Duties Include:
  • Making tactical decisions and establishing long-term strategies to meet performance objectives related to safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity, reliability, and operational efficiency;
  • Collaborating with corporate and site production planners to align on production schedules, strategies, and raw material availability;
  • Assisting plant management in evaluating and achieving key performance indicators concerning safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity, reliability, and operational efficiency;
  • Investigating performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operational efficiency, leading to the proposal and implementation of effective technical solutions;
  • Acting as a process expert and plant representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, collaborating with technical professionals from various disciplines;
  • Creating, maintaining, and developing standards for plant operating documentation, including standard operating procedures, process descriptions, and operating data collection;
  • Providing leadership to multi-disciplinary optimization and reliability teams across various sites, assisting in the development of continuous improvement goals and resource prioritization;
  • Serving as a process expert for HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analysis techniques, ensuring timely resolution of identified process safety risks;
  • Proposing designs and executing plant trials aimed at enhancing overall plant performance;
  • Offering training and mentorship to foster the development of other engineers;
  • Representing manufacturing on Technical Core Teams for assigned processes, maintaining the Process Management File, and approving process changes;
  • Supporting adherence to procedures, guidelines, and design standards across the site as a subject matter expert;
  • Encouraging knowledge transfer and experience exchange with other Plant Engineers, promoting ongoing development through peer coaching and constructive feedback;
  • Contributing to Site and Area Production System improvements.

WHO WE SEEK
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in a chemical manufacturing setting;
  • Strong communication skills, capable of articulating ideas and information clearly across all organizational levels;
  • Proficient in analyzing complex problems and executing effective corrective measures;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
