Position Overview: Senior Process Engineer

Key Responsibilities:


The Senior Process Engineer plays a pivotal role in providing technical guidance for chemical manufacturing processes, offering both tactical and strategic direction to bolster operational efficiency.

The core responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Making informed tactical decisions and establishing long-term strategies to meet performance objectives related to safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity, reliability, and operability.
  2. Collaborating with corporate and site production planners to align on production schedules, strategies, and raw material availability.
  3. Assisting plant management in assessing and achieving key performance indicators linked to safety, quality, waste reduction, capacity, reliability, and operability.
  4. Investigating performance issues within the plant concerning safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability, leading to the proposal and execution of effective technical solutions.
  5. Acting as a process authority and plant representative for design, construction, and implementation of investment projects, engaging with technical professionals from various disciplines.
  6. Developing and maintaining standards for plant operating documentation, including standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, and data collection protocols.
  7. Providing leadership to cross-disciplinary optimization and reliability teams across multiple sites, aiding in the establishment of continuous improvement objectives and resource prioritization.
  8. Serving as a process expert for HAZOP and other Process Hazard Analysis techniques, facilitating the timely resolution of identified process safety risks.
  9. Designing and executing plant trials aimed at enhancing operational performance.
  10. Offering training and mentorship to foster the development of other engineers.
  11. Representing manufacturing on the Technical Core Team for assigned processes, overseeing the maintenance of the Process Management File, and approving process modifications and deviations from established operating parameters.
  12. Ensuring compliance with procedures, guidelines, design standards, and technologies across the site as a subject matter expert, leading or representing the site on corporate teams.
  13. Encouraging knowledge exchange and promoting the transfer of expertise among Plant Engineers, while supporting the ongoing development of self and team members through peer coaching and constructive feedback.
  14. Contributing to Site and Area Production System enhancements.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering

Preferred:
Minimum of seven years of experience in a chemical manufacturing setting;
Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating ideas and information clearly across all organizational levels;
Proficient in analyzing complex issues and implementing corrective actions;
Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team environment.
