Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team at LaBella Associates in Rochester, NY. As a Survey Crew Chief, you will be responsible for leading a team of surveyors in the field and office, ensuring the successful completion of topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys, construction staking, terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone surveys, and structure monitoring in support of land surveying, civil engineering, architectural, and environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of surveyors in the field and office, ensuring the successful completion of survey projects.
  • Develop and implement survey plans and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure survey data is accurately collected and delivered.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach junior surveyors to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Ensure all survey work is completed in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a surveyor, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and Inroads software.
