Talent Masters is seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Director to lead the medical care team at our client's skilled nursing facility. As a pivotal leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the medical care provided within the facility, ensuring quality assurance, and effective case management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Physician Leadership: Oversee all clinical practices within the nursing home, ensuring adherence to quality and safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with Administrative Staff: Develop and evaluate care-related policies and procedures in collaboration with administrative staff.
- Supervise Medical Staff: Guide and supervise the medical staff, ensuring they adhere to quality and safety initiatives.
- Participate in Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance patient care.
- Communicate with Key Decision-Makers: Regularly communicate with key decision-makers, including the administrator and director of nursing.
- Liaise with Regulatory Agencies: Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in licensure surveys.
- Monitor Physician Performance: Monitor physician performance and practice to maintain high standards of care.
- Develop Educational Programs: Develop and oversee educational programs for staff, patients, families, and the community.
- Advocate for Resident Rights: Advocate for resident rights and ensure ethical and legal standards are upheld.
- Stay Informed about Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends, social, regulatory, and economic factors impacting patient care.
- Promote Person-Directed Care: Promote person-directed care and support initiatives that enhance resident satisfaction and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Active State Medical License: Active state medical license in good standing.
- Board Certification: Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics).
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in sub-acute care, primary care, or geriatric medicine.
- Previous Medical Director Experience: Previous SNF or hospital-based medical director experience preferred.
- Strong Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills with experience supervising mid-level providers.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to Collaborate: Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to Quality Improvement: Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care.
