Aviation Maintenance Specialist

The Aviation Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role within a certified FAR 145 Repair Station, undertaking essential maintenance responsibilities and conducting thorough inspections, operational checks, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs of airframe and powerplant systems and components following industry standards and practices.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory and quality assurance guidelines.
- Exhibit expertise in the methods, techniques, tools, and equipment utilized in aircraft maintenance.
- Safeguard and maintain parts and components undergoing maintenance in accordance with company policies.
- Ensure that all installed parts and materials comply with regulatory standards.
- Execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Provide comprehensive handovers for any unfinished maintenance tasks at shift changes.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a FAR Part 145 Repair Station environment, specifically in general and/or business aviation.
- A&P Certification is required, obtained from a recognized FAR Part 147 institution.
- Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 43 is essential; knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 91, 135, and 145 is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in maintenance management software (e.g., Quantum, Corridor, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of aircraft maintenance protocols and inspection procedures.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Capability to perform under pressure, including tight deadlines and challenging scenarios.
- Ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and process specifications.
- Willingness to work extended hours and travel for off-site assignments as necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Regular exposure to operational noise, temperature variations, dust, and aircraft components.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and move for extended periods as required by job duties.
- Must adhere to all safety regulations and communicate effectively in English.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Utilization of company-provided equipment for moving heavier items as needed.
