Position Overview

The Colorado Springs Police Department is in search of an Administrative Support Coordinator to undertake various data management and clerical responsibilities, as well as offer general information and assistance to the community.
Flexibility in working hours and days, including weekends, is essential as this role involves shift work.

Key Responsibilities
- The essential duties that the candidate must be able to perform include:
  • Integrate reports into the Law Enforcement Record Management System
  • Input and extract data from multiple systems and databases
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on entered or received data
  • Process and disseminate records requested by the public, media, legal representatives, etc.
  • Handle phone inquiries for information and services from the public and other agencies; assess specific needs and provide responses or redirect as necessary
  • Assist in the correction of monthly Federal Incident Based Reporting (IBR) reports
  • Support CCIC/NCIC desk operations related to processing pick-ups, cancellations, and confirmations
  • Manage sex offender registration forms through the State's COSAR (Colorado Sexual Assault Registry) database
  • Deliver customer service to Police Department clients, typically in a fast-paced environment
Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who exhibit:
  • Familiarity with contemporary office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and relevant software
  • Proficiency in English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both verbally and in writing, and to de-escalate situations as needed
  • Capability to establish and maintain productive working relationships
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment
This role necessitates basic computer skills and extensive use of a computer keyboard.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
One (1) year of relevant experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

Additional education may also be considered in lieu of minimum experience requirements.
Ideal candidates will also possess:
  • Specialized training in data entry, clerical functions, accounting, typing, or related fields
  • Experience within a law enforcement agency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe PDF Pro
  • Experience in handling and interpreting legal documents and forms
