Job Title: Lead Electrical Designer

Join M. C. Dean as a Lead Electrical Designer and take on a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and leadership abilities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Electrical Designer to lead our electrical design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals, as well as 3D modeling of pathway and circuiting layout. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts, as well as experience with critical design software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Lead the electrical design team in the creation of 3D models and circuiting layouts using Autodesk Revit and other design software.
  • Collaborate with project VDC leads and field installation leads to ensure that electrical designs meet project requirements and are feasible for installation.
  • Participate in design coordination and resolve conflicts with other disciplines.
  • Produce coordination/shop drawings, installation details, and sketches to support field installation tasks.
Requirements:
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and related concepts.
  • Experience with critical design software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Leadership and management skills to lead a team of electrical designers.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completed electrical apprenticeship and journeyman or master electrician status.
  • Experience with BlueBeam and MS Office.
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced office environment with frequent exposure to computer screens and sitting for extended periods of time.
