Job Overview

Electra Aero is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Manassas, VA. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems for our prototype aircraft and emerging 9-passenger eSTOL hybrid-electric aircraft.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems for our hybrid-electric aircraft, including power distribution, power electronics, and electrical energy storage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with avionics and other aircraft systems.
  • Develop and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electrical harnessing for communications and power across the aircraft.
  • Design and develop test fixtures for data acquisition systems and telemetry systems.
  • Work closely with the electrical engineering team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in relevant discipline areas or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Working knowledge in the area of hybrid-electric and/or fully electric propulsion systems and power electronics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the development of electrical systems, hybrid-electric propulsion, and/or avionics systems.
  • Proficient with general-purpose test and build equipment/tools (oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering iron).
  • A strong work ethic and ability to independently meet expectations in the areas described in the responsibilities and essential functions.
  • Organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to change.
