Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in the success of our restaurant, assisting the General Manager in overseeing daily operations and driving business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join our team and contribute to the development of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in hiring and training staff to ensure a high-performing team
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through effective conflict resolution and complaint management
  • Contribute to the development of a positive company culture and foster regular customer loyalty
  • Communicate with HR and accounting teams regarding invoicing and payroll
  • Double-check all orders for accuracy and quality
  • Knowledge of the menu and table numbers to provide excellent customer service
  • Collect payments and issue refunds, price adjustments, and manage cash handling
  • Proficiency in Toast POS and OpenTable systems
  • Strong communication and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Customer satisfaction-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manage menus in-house and through third-party delivery apps
  • Oversee scheduling, adjust schedules as needed, and manage employee time-off
  • Discipline and terminate employees in accordance with restaurant policy
  • Perform daily health inspections and oversee food handling and preparation
  • Conduct regular quality control checks on food and ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Manage liquor, beer, and wine inventory and work with the BOH team for food and supply purchases
  • Manage swag inventory and communicate order needs with the brand manager
  • Conduct daily checks of the restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Schedule routine maintenance and service on equipment and call in repairs as needed
Requirements
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to motivate and develop team members

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The Assistant General Manager will be required to communicate effectively with customers, management, and other coworkers, both individually and in groups. Regular use of the telephone for communication is essential. The ability to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 10 hours or as needed is crucial. The work environment is high-energy, with potential allergens present, including peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
