Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire materials to guarantee that stock and order requests from contracts are efficiently processed and received.
  • Consolidate requests when feasible; verify pricing and available discounts with suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely order placements.
  • Address inquiries related to orders promptly, including shipment dates, freight types, material handling, and other related questions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers and project managers to expedite material shipping and uphold shipping and receiving expectations.
  • Process order confirmations for product accuracy, quantity verification, pricing checks, and invoice compliance.
  • Engage daily with the project management team regarding any issues that may adversely affect customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least one year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or buying is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is essential, including a strong background in Microsoft Office Suite, MRP/ERP systems, and/or bar-code technologies.
  • Experience in fostering and enhancing relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to optimize purchase costs and operational efficiency is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary, with the ability to interact professionally with contacts at all levels and a strong sense of urgency combined with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Technical purchasing experience in the door, hardware, or security sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong aptitude for technical applications and mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
