Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain utilities equipment and systems to ensure efficient distribution of refrigeration, electrical power, CO2, air, steam, condensate, and cooling water across all departments, guaranteeing uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Diagnose and resolve utilities equipment issues while providing support to production teams during operational challenges.
  • Conduct and document compliance preventive maintenance on ammonia and CFC systems, along with other maintenance tasks as required.
  • Work independently or collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, gaining knowledge of complex, technical, and large-scale equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience is essential.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate degree in an industrial-related field such as HVAC, Electrical/Mechanical Technology, or Predictive Maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience in Navy (Nuclear or Conventional) or Merchant Marine engine rooms is advantageous.
  • Industrial journeyman level experience and hands-on experience as a stationary engineer or in heavy industrial maintenance is required.
  • A background as a Maintenance Technician is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and perform maintenance tasks throughout the facility.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and in positions requiring physical agility.
  • Must be able to obtain Haz/Mat and Confined Space Rescue certifications.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with operating machinery such as pumps, compressors, and steam turbines, as well as handling pressure, temperature, and vacuum gauges.
  • Possession of a Universal CFC license, driver's license, forklift license, and bronco lift license.
  • Basic proficiency with hand and power tools, instrumentation, control systems, and high voltage switchgear.
  • Ability to use self-contained breathing apparatus within Hazmat Level A suit.
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels.
  • Willingness to work at heights and around hazardous materials such as ammonia, CO2, acids, and high voltage electricity.
