Key Responsibilities
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to established safety protocols.
- Food Safety Standards: Uphold food safety by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and other relevant food safety regulations.
- Machine Evaluation: Assess the condition of machinery and perform maintenance tasks with a focus on safety.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
- Repairs: Ensure timely and effective repairs on production machinery.
- Mentorship: Guide fellow technicians and operators in the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Fabrication: Create components with precision using lathes and milling machines based on technical drawings.
- Welding: Perform basic welding tasks using various welding techniques.
- Tool Utilization: Safely and effectively use shop and hand tools, including plasma cutters.
- Documentation: Write Current Best Approaches (CBA's) and document all completed work accurately.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Inventory Management: Utilize TabWare for managing preventative maintenance and inventory.
- Team Collaboration: Contribute positively to team efforts in resolving complex issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with high-speed packaging machinery is essential.
- Preferred mechanical technical training.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance setting.
- Food and/or confectionery experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions, including manufacturer specifications.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in packaging equipment repair.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Familiarity with safety practices and procedures.
- Proficient in using power and hand tools, including lathe and milling machines for emergency repairs.
- Ability to analyze machine problems using manuals.
- Capability to handle/lift up to 35 lbs.
