Hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Univar Solutions. As a key member of our warehouse distribution business, you will play a vital role in the shipping, receiving, and distribution of chemical and ingredient products.
About the Role
The successful Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our transportation fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are safe and legal for use. This will involve performing preventative maintenance on all vehicles every 90 days, as well as conducting inspections and repairs as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles every 90 days
- Conduct inspections on vehicles every 90 days
- Repair and maintain the transportation fleet
- Maintain fleet records
- Assist with emergency on-road vehicle break down repairs
- Purchase parts and supplies as needed
Requirements
- Specialized training in Cummins diesel engines, Eaton transmissions and differentials, Rockwell differentials, heavy duty truck suspensions, and heavy duty brake system
