Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Senior Psychological Services Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing psychological services to agency employees and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement training programs on stress management, work performance enhancement, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide confidential treatment services and training to trooper trainees in the academy.
  • Develop and update training materials, and provide input for best practice guidelines for employee support services.
  • Facilitate debriefings after critical incidents, and assist in consultation on special projects requiring psychological expertise.
  • Participate in field visits and observe training for law enforcement officers, and provide feedback to VESS leadership.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.), or Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Successfully completed an internship in clinical or counseling psychology, and has documented training and supervised experience in group, individual and behavioral therapies, psychological assessment, and psychological testing.
  • Postdoctoral candidates must obtain a provisional license to practice under the supervision of a psychologist in Texas prior to start of their fellowship.

Benefits

A DPS employee who is selected for a position in the same salary group and state title as their current position will be transferred with no salary change.

A DPS employee who is selected for a position in their current salary group with a new state title may receive an increase of no more than 3.4% over their current salary regardless of posted salary.

Salary is contingent upon qualifications and is subject to salary administration and budgetary restrictions.
