Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations

The Costello College of Business at George Mason University invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. This role is responsible for overseeing the Corporate Partners Program, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporations for major gifts in support of the college's goals and priorities.
Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of corporate prospects through the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current donors and new Corporate and Foundation prospects.
- Participate in formulating strategies and approaches for senior staff and faculty involved in cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporations and foundations.
- Travel as necessary for donor outreach and cultivation.
- Carry and maintain a portfolio of at least 100 prospects that are being moved through the donor engagement process culminating in gifts.
- Organize and coordinate corporate and foundation meetings and site visits.
- Ensure appropriate recognition and stewardship of corporate donors.
- Actively engage each prospect in their portfolio to ensure prospect movement and portfolio penetration annually.
- Support successful execution of a comprehensive fundraising program that appropriately partners with and leverages resources from the Central Advancement team to accomplish objectives.
- Work closely with Central Advancement services, including Planned Giving, Annual Giving, Parents and Family Philanthropy, University Priorities, Alumni Relations, Communications, Systems, Operations, Donor Relations, Gifts, and Records.
- Work with offices across campus to coordinate related activities that further the Costello College of Business' mission and achieve fundraising goals.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent analytical skills, and oral and written communication skills.
- Displays good judgment and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests for support.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
- Excellent research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to document appropriate information in a donor management database system.
- Three years of fund-raising in a complex development organization, preferably in corporate and foundation relations.
- Writing and communications experience, preferably in higher education or a non-profit environment.
