Role Summary:

This role is pivotal in generating, nurturing, and advancing sales for Bunzl's designated distribution centers. The ideal candidate will lead and synchronize sales initiatives with the sales team, focusing on the formulation of sales tactics and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, training, and development for the branch sales team, including oversight of sales representatives.
  • Accountable for achieving or surpassing designated annual sales and profit targets.
  • Foster relationships with key clients and target accounts to ensure continuous growth and meet established objectives.
  • Assist the General Manager in the formulation of the sales budget as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehousing, Accounting, and Sales) to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Promote a strong customer service ethos and strengthen existing client relationships.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to specific customers.
  • Travel may be required for mandatory company meetings, including overnight stays.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of sales experience with a proven history of success in competitive environments; prior supervisory experience is advantageous.

Experience in selling outsourcing programs and familiarity with food service distributors and multi-location chains is highly desirable.

Ability to comprehend the market dynamics and effectively allocate resources for optimal coverage and product visibility.

Proficient in PC applications; experience with AS400/iSeries is a plus.

Exceptional communication skills are essential, including the ability to articulate the benefits of operational efficiencies to executive management.

Proven success in engaging and presenting to key decision-makers within client organizations.

Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, along with excellent analytical problem-solving abilities.

A self-motivated individual with strong leadership capabilities and a creative approach to motivating teams.

Team-oriented with outstanding customer service and sales skills.
