You will also perform direct patient care, including EKGs, wound dressings, and administering medications according to policy and procedure.
Responsibilities- Obtain and document patient information, including reason for visit, weight, vital signs, and visit screening information
- Set up examination rooms between cases and ensure they are clean and organized
- Assist patients as needed to prepare for visit with provider, taking appropriate measures to assure patient's safety and privacy
- Provide direct patient care, including EKGs, wound dressings, and administering medications according to policy and procedure
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork accurately and efficiently
- Perform phlebotomy and assist in specific laboratory functions relative to the testing, reporting, and quality assurance of laboratory specimens
- Execute and document ongoing patient communication, as directed by provider, prioritizing communications to the provider and responding to patient questions and requests
- Reinforce patient education as directed by the provider to support patient's understanding of instructions
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Basic Life Support Certification within 6 months
