Orthopaedic Nurse

Geisinger Health System offers a rewarding opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in Orthopaedics. As a valued member of our clinical staff, you will provide primary clinical support to our providers, patients, and their families, assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patient conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary clinical support to providers, patients, and their families
- Follow up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filing of results in the medical record
- Promote a clean environment and meet the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age ranges
- Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provide basic medical data for providers
- Prepare patients for examinations and provide direct clinical care as directed by providers
- Assist providers in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies
- Execute and document ongoing patient communication, prioritize communication to providers, and respond to patient questions and requests
- Administer medications and vaccines, including intradermal and skin testing, under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice

Requirements:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse certification and Basic Life Support certification
