About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts for our iron-air batteries. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance designs that meet the requirements of our multi-day energy storage system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create white-page designs for our Gen 2 product
  • Perform hands-on prototyping and collaborate with teams to build integrated prototypes
  • Work with vendors, manufacturing engineers, and technical operations to transition designs from prototype to high-volume production
  • Run and analyze trials to inform specs and future design direction
  • Release designs consistent with company best practices
  • Drive verification testing of your design work
  • Perform failure root cause analysis on systems and assemblies
Requirements

We're looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA). You'll bring:

  • Experience leading design work for complex mechanical and fluid systems
  • Proficiency in CAD, specifically SolidWorks modeling and drafting
  • Proficient in component design for mass manufacturing and assembly
  • Familiarity with mechanical verification testing
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, power electronics, or batteries is a plus
