Job Summary

The Folger Shakespeare Library is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Director of Development Operations. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development operations team, ensuring the efficient and effective management of development processes, and providing strategic leadership to drive fundraising efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in development operations, with experience in managing teams, developing and implementing processes, and analyzing data to inform fundraising strategies. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, development staff, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development operations team, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective management of development processes.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of development operations, including gift processing, prospect management, and data analysis.
  • Provide strategic leadership to drive fundraising efforts, working closely with senior leadership and development staff to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform fundraising strategies, using data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including vendors and consultants, to ensure the effective management of development operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in development operations, preferably in a cultural, art, or academic institution.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Demonstrated success in annual fund/or membership fundraising.
  • Market research, analytics, and data modeling experience is essential.
