Job Summary

The Office for Institutional Equity at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled Equity Compliance Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the University's compliance with federal, state, and local laws in the area of equal opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve discrimination and harassment complaints, including those related to sex, gender, marital status, pregnancy, race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or veteran status.
  • Conduct assessments and investigations of complaints of sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive reports based on facts revealed in investigations, including analysis of applicable laws and University policies.
  • Provide input and/or testimony as needed in hearings or other disciplinary proceedings that stem from the investigations.
  • Participate in the evaluation and ongoing development of University policy and procedures related to sexual misconduct, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
  • Deliver training and educational programs to various University community members on discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation.
Requirements
  • JD from an accredited law school required.
  • Five years of experience investigating and resolving discrimination/harassment complaints, or comparable experience in litigation or HR investigatory work.

  • Exceptional writing and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to manage and work with conflict, including meeting with individuals who may be experiencing high levels of stress.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, and to balance workload.
  • Ability and desire to work actively, collaboratively, and creatively as part of a team.
What We Offer

Johns Hopkins University offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and excellent benefits. This is an exempt position, and the salary range is $98,800 - $173,300 Annually.
