Job Title: Electronics Assembly Technician

Reports To: Operations Manager/PCBA Supervisor

SUMMARY

The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly of electronic components, printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and final products by utilizing schematics, assembly documentation, and established procedures. This role includes the operation and maintenance of select soldering machines and various automated equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned to fulfill business requirements.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting assembly and schematic drawings, work orders, test procedures, and wiring diagrams.
  • Capable of learning to operate and maintain select soldering machines and various automated insertion devices, alongside other electronic assembly tools.
  • Engagement in mechanical, optical, and electrical operations, requiring the use of a diverse range of hand and power tools, electrical/mechanical fixtures, gauges, and measuring instruments such as micrometers, meters, drills, jigs, and soldering irons.
  • Accountable for inspecting and/or testing personal work and the work of colleagues.
  • Job complexity may vary from simple, repetitive tasks to more intricate tasks as the technician's experience develops.
  • Ability to solder components onto printed circuit boards following completion of training.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures is mandatory.
  • Commitment to maintaining good housekeeping practices, including 5S/ESD protection.
  • Aim to meet and exceed inventory accuracy standards set by the organization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strive to meet on-time delivery expectations established by the company.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet production schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education and/or Experience - A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with two years of experience in a related manufacturing setting. Proficiency in reading and interpreting assembly and schematic drawings, as well as work instructions, is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and utilize hands for tasks such as fingering, handling, or feeling. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms are also required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
