Electromechanical Assembly Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical Assembler to support our client in a contract role with potential for permanent placement. This position plays a crucial role in the assembly of advanced ion implantation equipment utilized in semiconductor chip fabrication.

Work Schedule:
First Shift: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (flexible)
Compensation:
Pay Rate: $35 to $37 per hour

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electronics or electromechanical assembly.
- An Associate degree or higher in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools including screwdrivers, torque drivers, wrenches, and pliers.
- Soldering experience with PCBA through-hole and SMT certifications is advantageous.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools such as hand drills or drill presses is a plus.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts, and electrical/electronic systems to create subassemblies and complete units using various tools and equipment.
- Work in an engineering lab environment to assemble electromechanical prototype products.
- Regularly meet with project stakeholders to clarify daily tasks in a dynamic engineering setting.
- Follow detailed verbal and written instructions for prototype assembly.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to optimize assembly practices for new products.
- Propose improvements to assembly processes that reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
- Update assembly procedures and Bills of Materials based on observations and findings.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in developing efficient work cells.
