Objective:
The Energy Sales Specialist is tasked with enhancing the sales of Energy products across designated accounts while also cultivating new business opportunities.
Physical Responsibilities:
Safely operate and maintain cleanliness of delivery vehicles. Ensure that retail environments, including displays, shelving, and stock areas, are well-kept. Deliver products to retail locations, manage pricing, and restock shelves and displays. Proper lifting techniques and mobility in and out of vehicles are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough sales visits to all assigned accounts on scheduled days.
- Promote and merchandise Energy products in line with company standards.
- Collaborate with retailers to balance order quantities for scheduled deliveries.
- Utilize and enhance the PIITCHER process consistently.
- Support the GDH team in mastering the PIITCHER methodology.
- Coordinate with the Total Beverage Sales team regarding deliveries and special requests.
- Inform the Total Beverage Sales team about promotions related to Energy products.
- Ensure appropriate use and quantity of paper and permanent Point of Sale materials.
- Leverage sales history data as a tool during each account visit to avoid stockouts.
- Request additional promotional placements or displays during sales calls.
- Keep marketing plans and tracking charts updated on a daily basis.
- Engage actively in incentive programs.
- Return to accounts as needed to assist with merchandising delivered products.
- Restock delivery vehicles daily with necessary Point of Sale materials for the next business day.
- Foster positive relationships with owners, managers, and staff of assigned accounts.
- Minimize contact with retailers during peak business hours.
- Stay informed about competitive activities and opportunities to boost sales.
- Monitor and record pricing of competitive products to ensure market parity.
- Seek new placements and negotiate better pricing on special promotions.
- Work with accounts to enhance shelf positioning for products.
- Train retailers and their staff on effective selling, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
- Show genuine interest in the success of each assigned account.
- Maintain clear communication with company management and account personnel.
- Report any new competitive activities or pricing information to management promptly.
- Share beneficial information during weekly sales meetings.
- Reconcile all route invoices, cash, and checks on a daily basis.
- Communicate any additional Point of Sale or equipment needs to management.
- Ensure proper stock rotation is practiced in all assigned accounts.
- Manage the return of close-dated products to the warehouse for redistribution.
- Monitor code dates and ensure out-of-date products are swapped out.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the delivery vehicle.
- Ensure regular servicing and repairs of the vehicle to prevent breakdowns.
- Adhere to professional appearance standards as per company policy.
- Safeguard and return all issued equipment in good condition.
- Conduct all activities in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Report any traffic violations that may impact insurability to management.
- Immediately report all accidents and injuries to the Area Sales Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
