BoujieMana is a high-end dining experience located in the heart of San Diego. We are seeking a skilled Banquet Cook to join our team and contribute to our commitment to culinary excellence.

Job Summary

The Banquet Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet the chefs specifications and presentation expectations. This includes maintaining and cleaning food preparation areas, stocking food products, ensuring proper storage, cooking of food, setting up and breaking down serving areas, serving TCW staff four times a week, serving catering clients as needed, and maintaining sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of BoujieMana
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperature
  • Guarantee freshness of food
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods using chefs recipes or under their instructions
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Wash, peel and cut produce
  • Butchery of all proteins
  • Close the kitchen following the closing checklist for kitchen stations and/or assist others in closing the kitchen
  • Prep and serve foods for all catered events
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Lift, maneuver and store items up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Assist with additional prep if needed by Boujimana restaurant
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous cooking experience: experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook is a plus
  • Valid San Diego County Food Handlers Card
  • Proficient in reading English
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team
Availability

AM availability required (5am/6am)
