Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Finance and Accounting to join our team at Paul Davis Restoration of Greenville and Spartanburg. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial records and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
    • Supervise the recording and reporting of financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Work with the Assistant Controller to ensure the timely completion of the monthly close and review of financial reports.
    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement.
    • Manage the treasury function, including cash management and investment of excess funds.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and manage the annual budget for the Accounting Department.
    • Assist in the development of the overall company budget and forecasts.
    • Partner with the CFO and Senior Director of FP&A to develop long-range financial models and forecasts.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with all financial laws and regulations, including tax laws and debt covenants.
    • Monitor debt outstanding and ensure timely payment of debts.
    • Work with staff to ensure compliance with financial grant requirements and other regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Supervise and manage a team of accounting professionals, including the Assistant Controller.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
    • Coach and develop staff to ensure they are meeting their performance goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
    • CPA certification required.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
    • Experience in not-for-profit accounting preferred.
    • High level of computer proficiency, including advanced experience with computerized accounting systems, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to build relationships with external and internal partners.
