Community Support Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role collaborates with educational institutions to facilitate a Community Resource Center aimed at assisting families in navigating available support services. Utilizing specialized software, the position focuses on delivering personalized assistance to community members, empowering them to achieve their individual objectives.
This is a FULL-TIME position, requiring 37.50 hours per week. The work schedule includes:
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Wednesday, Thursday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with community coordinators and mental health professionals to support families utilizing the Resource Center.
- Report to the Case Coordinator and participate in weekly meetings for case management.
- Engage with the Community Schools Team on a monthly basis to enhance community strategies.
- Conduct outreach to foster relationships with families and students.
- Organize and lead presentations within the community and school settings.
- Respond effectively to families in crisis situations, including issues related to housing, safety, and basic needs.
- Actively participate in community events to strengthen connections.
- Assist community members in identifying and accessing essential resources across various sectors.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients.
- Advocate for clients, providing emotional support and promoting self-advocacy skills.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Case Coordinator.
- Attend all required supervision and training sessions.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must possess:
- Knowledge of the local community and familiarity with educational institutions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
- Experience in data collection and management.
- Understanding of community engagement strategies.
- Experience working with children and families in various capacities.
- A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Proficiency in digital tools, particularly Google Workspace.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with individuals compassionately.
- Dependability and flexibility in work responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma (or GED equivalent) is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
Prior to employment, candidates must complete the following:
- State Central Registry Form
- Background check authorization
- Driving record authorization
- Fingerprinting and clearance process
- Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Regular access to a vehicle
- Automobile insurance meeting specified coverage requirements
