Transportation Coordinator for Head Start Program

This role is essential in supporting the mission of the Head Start program by ensuring safe and efficient transportation of food products.

Supervisor: Nutrition Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- General Duties:

- Adhering to safety protocols in all job functions.
- Possessing a foundational understanding of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Safely transporting and delivering food products as per established guidelines.
- Conducting thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Demonstrating experience in operating commercial vehicles while complying with local driving regulations.
- Maintaining a clean driving record.
- Making informed decisions regarding safety and scheduling.
- Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ensuring compliance with background checks and health regulations.
- Meeting physical demands, including lifting and frequent movement.
- Specific Duties:
- Prioritizing safety in all operational tasks.
- Transporting and delivering meals within designated areas according to a set schedule.
- Adhering to established transportation protocols.
- Implementing emergency procedures as necessary.
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and adhering to maintenance schedules.
- Following guidelines outlined in relevant contracts and policies.
- Performing additional responsibilities as required by the program.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing and insurance requirements.
- Exemplifying the organization's values in all interactions.
- Complying with health department sanitation standards.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchenware and food service areas.
- Monitoring food temperatures to ensure safety standards are met.
- Participating in ongoing professional development as required.
- Handling confidential information responsibly.
- Maintaining a positive representation of the organization.
- Obtaining necessary certifications, such as CPR/First Aid.
- Completing other assigned tasks as needed.
