Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Early Childhood Apprenticeship Specialist to join our team at McLennan Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship educational pathways that lead to postsecondary credentials and gainful employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship programs in early childhood education
  • Collaborate with child care employers, the Department of Labor, the Heart of Texas Workforce Board, and other state and federal agencies to develop and maintain apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships programs
  • Work closely with McLennan Community College's Child Studies and Education programs to ensure alignment and coordination
  • Provide training and support to apprentices and employers to ensure successful program outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or a related field
  • More than two years of work experience in education, career services, workforce program development, apprenticeship programs, or adult education
  • Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or a related field, and three years of work experience in early childhood program development and/or registered apprenticeship development
Working Conditions

This is a sedentary desk job with occasional field trips. The work environment is a standard office setting with minimal hazard or exposure.
