Resident Care Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Oversee the well-being of residents within assigned sections of the facility
  • Familiar with the Interdisciplinary Care Plan and adheres to its guidelines
  • Ensures residents maintain personal hygiene and appearance
  • Collaborates with Licensed Staff and department leaders
  • Participates in training sessions and team meetings

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend verbal instructions
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Enrollment in a certification program and completion is preferred prior to employment

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Capable of organizing, planning, and supervising resident care
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships
  • Exhibits good emotional, mental, and physical health with sound judgment
  • Provides emergency assistance as required
  • Displays courtesy when interacting with residents, families, and staff
  • Passionate about working with elderly residents

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Records attendance on the Unit Assignment Sheet
  • Aids residents with daily activities, meals, personal care, and recreational activities
  • Supports restorative eating, snacks between meals, and bathing routines
  • Completes additional tasks as directed by Licensed Staff

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Manages monthly staff scheduling, weekly inventory, and coverage for shifts
  • Coordinates transportation for appointments and assists in training and orientation
  • Aids in the restorative care program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires full range of motion including standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, twisting, turning, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, and seeing

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work throughout various nursing areas of the facility, which may involve irregular hours and exposure to different substances
