About the Role:

The Admissions Coordinator is a key member of our team at Guidehouse, responsible for managing inpatient and outpatient admissions. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register incoming patients and enter information on admitting forms
  • Explain hospital regulations and assign patients to rooms based on their needs
  • Prepare identification bracelets and assist with insurance matters
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff
  • Obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information from patients and other sources
  • Perform pre-certification, credit referral, or deposit collection as needed
  • Enter data in computer systems and thoroughly document incomplete admissions/registrations
  • Notify patients, families, physicians, and supervisors of insurance coverage issues
  • Review physician orders for completion and ensure all required information is listed
  • Complete Medicare Compliance and obtain ABN if necessary
  • Utilize multiple computer systems and maintain positive customer service at all times

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of hospital, medical office, or customer service experience
  • Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
