At Safariland, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Chemist to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, and characterizing small organic molecules of interest. Your expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, formulation, and process development will be invaluable in helping us drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and conduct the synthesis, purification, and characterization of small organic molecules.
  • Develop and test novel formulations, including initial scale-up for new formulations.
  • Assist in the development of testing procedures for new formulations and devices.
  • Operate and maintain various laboratory instruments, including light meters, spectrometers, HPLC, and GC.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and provide written or oral reports and research summaries as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to develop comprehensive solutions.
Requirements:
  • MS/MA in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 5 years of experience or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 3 years of experience.
  • Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, formulation, and process development.
  • Experience with analytical methods, such as NMR, HPLC, LCMS, UV-vis, and IR.
  • Broad experience in purification techniques, including recrystallization and chromatography.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
