Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Grassroots Coordinator, Government Affairs. This role will provide administrative and logistical support for our Federal and State Government Affairs teams, focusing on increasing ASLA members engagement in the political process at the local, state, and federal levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and track legislative issues and actions for state and federal government affairs initiatives, including reviewing bills, hearings, testimony, and floor debates.
  • Prepare and review reporting communications for distribution to internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinate and administer grassroots communications and campaigns on state and federal legislative issues through ASLA's advocacy network and social media channels.
  • Work closely with ASLA staff and chapters to increase grassroots engagement and facilitate activism among members.
  • Identify and implement new trends and strategies in grassroots advocacy.
  • Develop and execute civic engagement training opportunities for members and chapters.
  • Run reports, update spreadsheets, and maintain accurate records on ASLA's advocacy engagement and develop progress reports.
  • Assist in meeting management, including developing materials, sending invitations, and coordinating logistics for events such as conference calls, webinars, and advocacy days.
  • Participate in ASLA-related activities and events, including governance meetings, conferences, and summits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least two to three years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of state and federal government processes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting successful online advocacy campaigns.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, time management, and research.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and grassroots management systems.
